coal drops yard

brief:
We would like you to look at creating two Descriptive Views of the location/building, captured from the same vantage point, plus a detailed 'vignette' view. For the descriptive view the viewpoint should offer a comprehensive perspective of the location/building, capturing its essence and integration within its surroundings. To highlight the space's versatility, each artist is to create two versions of their view, showcasing the scene under different conditions - either across various seasons of the year or at different times of the day. The Detail View should focus on a specific aspect of the project, such as an innovative feature or a unique material used in the construction. This close-up shot should highlight the quality and thought put into the design details." Read through the list below, Look over the supplied information, and research online. Pick the space and architecture that engages with you and which you believe enables you to produce your best images to sell these areas to those who may wish to shop, live, visit and engage with all that Kings Cross offers.
I was assigned to work on the retail area at coal drops yard. Built in 1850, it was originally a coal drop building used for coal distribution and storage.
Throughout the project, we scheduled two feedback sessions. The first was dedicated to establishing the camera angles and lighting arrangements, while the second involved presenting three different concept/mood proposals.

4 days after project kick-off
The first few days consisted of figuring out which models were relevant for my specific camera angle, cleaning up and refining said models and creating custom materials from reference photos. working with xrefs and old models not optimized for the current versions of 3ds max wasn't a straight forward path, but a very good learning experience. Furthermore, the limited hardware we had at our disposal made the work more challenging than it could have been.

Out of these four vignette/detail angles they picked the 2nd & 4th one. However, due to time limitations I decided to make two versions of the main angle and only do one of the detail images.
